APR is pleased to present the ultimate boost hose upgrade for MQB platform vehicles with the 1.8T and 2.0T engines!
The APR Boost Hose System is a comprehensive, direct replacement upgrade, to the factory rubber hoses found in the charge piping system. The system includes a multitude of enhancements designed for maximum performance, longevity and insurance against power robbing boost leaks. The system is sold both as a complete kit, and individually, and is fully compatible with the OEM and upgraded APR Intercooler system, OEM throttle body and all OEM turbochargers.
This system includes the turbo outlet hose.
APR's Engineers took a multi-step approach to optimizing the hoses to minimize boost leaks, reduce turbulence and other performance degradations. Four-ply silicone was utilized as it provides the thickness and strength characteristics necessary to support boost levels far beyond the engine's capabilities. A Fluorosilicone internal lining was added to ensure the hoses do not rapidly deteriorate over time when exposed to oil and gasoline from the PCV and EVAP systems. The included stainless-steel Clampco T-bolt clamps prevent the hoses from coming loose under heavy pressure and under high temperatures, silicone adheres to its mating surface, further minimizing leaks and hose slippage. APR's EZ-Flow stepped design creates a smooth airflow path, reducing turbulence over non-stepped designs. Finally, silicone provides better heat resistance over rubber, extending the life of the product and ultimately minimizing failure. The result is hose solution that directly replaces the factory rubber hoses and maintains performance under extreme conditions!
APR Carbon Fiber Intake – B8 3.0T Back Tube

The OEM intake system includes resonators in the hose connecting the air box to the throttle body designed to reduce supercharger whine. The APR intake system in Stage 1 form replaces the factory air box and filter, and will deliver roughly 11 AWHP over stock. The Stage 2 back pipe when combined with the Stage 1 Air box will increase power further to around 15 AWHP and will slightly increase intake supercharger whine.

APR's Wheel Spacers physically move the wheel further away from the hub. In doing so, they give your wheels the desired offset needed to create the stance or look you desire, or clearance necessary to clear brake callipers. When using wheel spacers, longer bolts are required and are provided below.

APR K04-64 Turbo System – 2.0T Longitudinal – B7, B8 and B8.5 A4/A5

The APR K04 Turbocharger System is a drop in turbo upgrade that dramatically increases power. With this upgrade and accompanying software, expect power similar to a heavily tuned Golf R, S3, TT-S, and other high end vehicles, as the K04 comes standard on those vehicles. Transient response is lightning fast with minimal lag. Power comes on quick, and stays strong through the entire powerband. Best of all, the system is designed as a budget upgrade compared to larger turbocharger systems, and only requires minimal hardware, most of which is available to APR Stage 2 customers.
Turbocharger:
APR uses Genuine Borg Warner components. The heart of the system is a Borg Warner K04-64. The CNC-machined billet compressor wheel and stainless steel exhaust manifold are a substantial leap in technology, performance, and reliability over the factory unit. Unlike the off the shelf K04-64 unit, APR's unit is customized. We integrated the DV into the compressor cover, just like the factory turbo it replaces. In doing so, clutter and complexity is removed. The DV mounts to the turbo, eliminating several potential boost leak points. It's a simple and clean install. With many thousands of these units sold for more than a decade, we can confidently say these turbos are powerful, and reliable.
Install hardware:
We don't cut any corners with this system. All gaskets, nuts, bolts, washers, studs, and one time use clamps are included with this upgrade, making install as headache free as possible.

Included Pads High-Performance Street Pads Details:
Specifically designed for use in high-performance street applications and one of the best high-performance street pads on the world market at the moment. This compound beds-in quickly and delivers strong brake performance over a wide temperature range. The material exhibits a strong initial bite as you engage the brake pedal followed by a slightly rising torque curve during a single brake application. This slight rise in brake torque in the mid-late stages of a brake application makes use of the additional front tire grip available after weight transfer has occurred during a typical (medium-hard) brake application. This delivers optimal stopping distances when tested on street cars running high-performance street tires. The compound features a high average friction coefficient and delivers reduced stopping distances as well as improved fade resistance when compared to most OEM and aftermarket high-performance street pads.

APR Valve Springs/Seats/Retainers – Set of 16

The APR Valve Spring System is a high performance, lightweight upgrade designed to increase valve control and eradicate valve float common on many applications. APR's design specifications called for a valve spring, retainer and spring seat combination that doesn't overpower and snap the OEM valves or erode the aluminium spring seat, while still maintaining exceptional valve control. The result is an advanced design that's 28% lighter yet 20% stiffer than the high-performance OEM Golf R setup and is proven to eliminate the OEM valve train's weakest link. We call it Performance Without Compromise!
Valve Springs:
Weight reduction, and not necessary stiffness, is absolutely necessary to increasing valve control. The APR Valve Spring utilizes a beehive design that allows for a reduction in mass is not only the spring itself but also through the use of a smaller titanium retainer. The springs feature an ovate wire design that allows for even stress distribution resulting in better control at high RPMs through a resistance of harmful valve float inducing harmonics. The lightweight design also accomplishes accurate valve control without requiring an overly stiff spring which has been proven to snap OEM valves in half. Each valve spring weights 29 grams and represents a 19% weight reduction over the OEM Golf R spring. The result is a highly engineered design that's simply plugged and play!
Valve Spring Retainers:
Through the use of a beehive design, APR's Engineers were able to design and supply a valve spring retainer that's smaller than stock to reduce weight as much as possible. In an effort to offer extreme weight savings, at an additional 71% over the OEM Golf R retainers, American 6AL4V titanium was used for its high specific strength weighing in at only 2 grams each. By offering outstanding weight savings, exceptional valve control characteristic are achieved while only requiring a modest 20% increase in stiffness over the OEM Golf R spring.
Valve Spring Seats:
Often an overlooked piece of an upgraded valve train is the valve spring seat. The factory heads are aluminum and unfortunately increased spring pressure can distort or erode the mating surface overtime as they mate directly to the bare head. To prevent this from happening, APR's Engineers designed valve spring seats out of 4140 heat-treated chrome molly steel with a black oxide coating. The spring seats are strong enough to withstand pressure from the springs and provide a mating surface that evenly distributes spring load across a larger area than the spring itself, allowing an increased spring rate without negative side effects to the aluminium head.
Eliminating Valve Float:
It's not uncommon to experience valve float with the OEM valve springs, even below the OEM rev limit. On some applications like the 2.0 TSI, back pressure from the K04 turbocharger has been known to force the exhaust valves open. This has been noticed on vehicles with overly weak OEM valve springs and some with higher miles that have simply lost their stiffness over time. This issue accompanies misfires commonly above 5000 RPM. In some extreme cases, valves are forced open and the vehicle ceases accelerating any further. A quick datalog of intake mass airflow and boost pressure at wide-open throttle will show a sudden rise in boost pressure with an immediate loss of airflow as pressure from the open valves is pushed back into the intake manifold. On other applications, valve float can begin to occur just beyond the OEM rev limit. While other components, such as higher strength valves are often required for extremely high revving applications, the APR Valve Spring System will eliminate float well beyond the revving constraints set forth by the other components.
